Description
Our natural clove leaf essential oil for foods comes from the species Syzygium aromaticum. The product is offered under the name Clove natural essential oil for food. The liquid consistency of the oil is combined with a light brown to light yellow colour. The aroma remains strong and rich, and its spicy character is complemented by woody nuances that can be perceived throughout the entire volatile range. The light colour of the liquid follows the plant part used, as the leaves yield a faintly coloured distillate during the extraction of the aromatic constituents. The composition of the distillate contains no preservatives or colourants, and its purity remains entirely natural. The purity of this composition stems from natural cultivation, in which the trees develop without synthetic agents and retain their natural content. The trees belong to the Myrtaceae family and grow in Bulgaria. The plantations provide leaves, which serve as the sole raw material for extraction. The raw material undergoes steam distillation, which retains only the volatile molecules and therefore gives the scent a pronounced purity and a clearly expressed spicy tone. Eugenol forms the main part of the volatile profile. Beta-caryophyllene and alpha-humulene contribute the woody nuance to the same profile. Eugenyl acetate ranks among the other constituents and complements the fullness of the olfactory characteristic of the clove oil. In addition, the Bulgarian origin provides the raw material with a clearly defined botanical source. The product also contains secondary volatile compounds characteristic of the leaf tissue of this species.

Application
Clove leaves are a well-known spice in the food industry, valued for their intense, warm and spicy aroma, and the essential oil obtained from them is used in the production of confectionery, chocolates and desserts with a pronounced Christmas and winter character. It is also used in flavouring meat products, marinades and sauces, where it adds depth of flavour in traditional and gourmet cuisine, and it is also part of recipes for spicy liqueurs, tinctures and spiced wines. Owing to the fine and soft aromatic note characteristic of the leaf oil, it combines easily with other spices such as cinnamon, star anise, nutmeg and ginger, creating recognisable oriental and festive aromatic profiles. A small amount is sufficient to achieve a pronounced flavour effect, which makes it convenient to dose in a variety of recipes. It is suitable for inclusion in organic and natural food concepts that comply with the requirements of European legislation on flavourings. Thanks to its stability during storage and heat treatment, the oil retains its aroma in finished products such as baked goods, teas and seasoning mixes, and its universal compatibility with other plant oils makes it a practical ingredient for manufacturers seeking a balance between tradition and modern culinary trends.

Storage

Store natural clove leaf essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and changes in quality.
